Discipline: Glass

Art in all its forms has always interested me. For the glass work I produce, I derive inspiration from life in general, being exposed to adverts, going to art exhibitions, the clothes we wear and from nature. It has been said I am visually curious and find inspiration in things that do not register with others. I try to make my glass work fun and interesting. I am buzzing with ideas and just love being immersed in such a creative medium; and it is fair to say, the more I learn about the various glass fusing techniques, the more I want to learn.

Unlike many other glass forms (blowing, casting or flameworking) glass fusing brings your designs to life, working with the glass while it is cold. The actual fusing is the process of joining compatible sheet and accessory glasses together in a kiln, depending on the desired effect, using a range of top temperatures from 700 °C to 840 °C. Fusing offers a myriad of possibilities, playing with colour and form, to create both functional and artwork pieces.
